If you have ever tried to hire a tradesman to carry out small/medium sized jobs, you may know first hand just how frustrating an experience it can often prove, if so, hopefully Marts Handyman Services may be able to assist. Established in 2007, the business serves customers throughout Cardiff and surrounding areas**, has a large and established customer base many of whom have been loyal and valued customers for a number of years, and of course welcomes new enquiries from potential new customers seeking the services of a reputable, professional, and comprehensive Handyman service able to carry out a variety of work ranging from general home repair tasks to traditional trades. Although the business is keen to promote the no job too small mantra, slightly larger and more involved type works that may take for example a few days to complete are also carried out, so please do feel free to contact via the contact form* regarding anything you may have in mind.
Why choose Marts Handyman Services
Experience... With over thirty years working experience in the industry, and as of writing this.. nineteen years as self employed, I have the knowledge and skills to competently carry out most property maintenance/improvement/repair jobs asked of me. I have done this day in, day out.... for years. Honesty... I will never sell you a service or product you don't require. If there is something I cannot do, or do not feel comfortable in carrying out, I will try to advise you as to what type of business you may need to carry out the works in question. Reliability... If you choose to hire me for 'whatever' the job may be, I will turn up when arranged or keep you informed if there is a hold up or other issue. No Job too small... The business is proud to provide this service to it's customers, others often state no job to small, unfortunately in reality, this often proves not to be the case and it's usually for two reasons: 1) they don't believe there is money in it, and 2) they think the jobs are 'below them.' Ego is a huge issue in this industry. Fully insured... I operate a registered and fully insured business with public liability insurance of £2,000,000 available to view upon request.
Services and Pricing
Fitting blinds/curtain poles, re-sealing baths/shower trays, installing shower screens, installing tv brackets/tv screens, handrails, door canopies, constructing and/or fitting shelving and storage solutions... these are just a few examples of commonly requested jobs but are by no means an exhaustive list, in fact barely scratching the surface of the variety of jobs I am routinely requested to carry out. I am able to carry out most plumbing requirements you may have (water), non notifiable electrical jobs such as changing light fittings, sockets/switches, and adding sockets where permissible, I am also trained in and carry out traditional trades to include tiling, plastering, and carpentry works such as door hanging, flooring, boxing in, skirtings etc. I don't carry out painting.. sorry. Smaller jobs are charged on an hourly/half hourly basis at the rates of: £35.00 for anything up to the first hour, then £15.00 per HALF HOUR or part of, thereafter. Day rate: Currently £180.00. Larger jobs are subject to a free Quotation. Materials / fixings costs are additional to labour charges. (Min charge £5.00) Payments can be made by Bank Transfer or Cash. Bank transfer preferable.
*The most convenient way to make an enquiry is by filling out the online contact form, giving as much detail as possible. *Please note to check your spam/trash folder as well as your inbox for any reply.* ** I cover most of Cardiff excluding the city centre. Penarth and Dinas Powys to the west. Taffs Well, Tongwynlais, and Caerphilly (town, not county) to the north. I do not work in Cardiff city centre under any circumstances. I only work in Pontcanna, or the area's surrounding Albany Rd & City Rd if customers can guarantee parking within a reasonable distance from the property. Customers that live in a 'residential parking' area, must have a visitor permit for me to consider working at the property.
There are three groups of people I no longer work for: 1) Landlords (Far too many reasons to list here)... 2) Individuals that hold contemptuous opinions on what I do, viewing my job as, for want of better words: 'money for old rope'... and 3) Electricians.. I have never 'ever' met one that wasn't smug, arrogant, conceited, and totally sanctimonious.
Thankyou for your time and hopefully your understanding.
